when i came back to singapore, i had difficulty adjusting back. cos back here, my mum stuffs me with food and i dun work my limbs..and i kept sleeping. everywhere i go, i will doze off..haha. chiangmai really changed me. LOLS. some complaints here and there, but still the trip is like the best trip i've ever been on. i was happy everyday, even though i fell sick on day 3 onwards =(
and i went audrey's house to check mail today(cos my broadband initially had some probs) then i realised that Pii Ku mailed me!!! even though it was like a short mail just to say hi, i was rather touched that she took the initiative to mail me. like i talked to her only on several occasions and like i thought i was rather irritating cos i was like the few ppl who talked to Pii Ace and Pii Ku. didn't expect her to mail me so i immediately replied her. her mail made me miss chiangmai even more! i so want a levels to be over soon so we can all make our way to dear dear chiangmai and to even more dear dear tung luang village. haha. i am so in love with that place. i might consider retiring there. LOLS =)
the reason why i love chiangmai so much is not mainly cos i made many friends there. was that becos i feel that the people there are really very nice. they really respect u alot. and the most touching thing was that when we were walking to our workplace, some villagers came to shake hands with me. though i couldn't understand what they were saying, but from their expressions, i could tell they were really grateful to us for repairing and painting their water tank. and when we were on the songthaews, moving back to the city area, i waved to many ppl and they actually waved back. i thought it was like rather a nice gesture. in singapore, probably ppl might think u were crazy but back there, ppl just waved back and smiled. feel that we should learn from them.
the food in chiangmai is good too. first two days we ate tom yum soup and it really tastes very nice! it's not as sour as the ones back in singapore. it's sweet and spicy to my liking. their dry egg noodles was rather like the mee kia that we usually have in hawker centres. both thumbs up. oh and i must comment i love drinking coke there cos they have it in glass bottles! and i asked Pii Ace, she told me that bottles are cheaper than cans. it's like the reverse here in singapore. haha. and we hardly find coke in glass bottles anyway. i found them in perkafe only recently. LOLS.
